GIW水泵公司参与拉斯维加斯水泵隧道工程
GIW公司这家专门生产泥浆泵的水泵公司将为拉斯维加斯市政工作提供8套水泵系统，该水泵系统将应用于Mead湖3号隧道的铁路系统中去。而价值超过4.5亿美元的隧道系统有效了保证了拉斯维加斯以及周边城市的供水。
拉斯维加斯的隧道工程部选择了佐治亚州当地的水泵厂商，GIW作为他们8套水泵系统的供应商，其中7套水泵系统用于隧道循环系统的泥浆排污处理，另外一套则被安放到地表的加工厂中。
这些安装的水泵系统各个重达24000磅，将直接安装在隧道边上的墙边。而七台高压水泵将传输隧道挖掘出来的物料。

GIW Industries supplies pumps for Las Vegas tunnel project
GIW Industries, the manufacturer of heavy-duty centrifugal slurry pumps, will provide eight pump and drive train systems for the construction of the Lake Mead Intake Tunnel No 3.
The US$450 million tunnel project is necessary to protect the water supply of Las Vegas and surrounding municipalities.
Vegas Tunnel Constructors selected Georgia-based GIW Industries to supply eight pump systems, seven of which will pump slurry through the tunnel’s closed-loop circuit. The eighth GIW pump will be located in the processing plant at the shaft’s surface.
GIW will start installing the pumps in April or May 2010. The pumps, each with an assembled weight of 24 000 pounds, will be strategically placed along the wall of the tunnel. The seven GIW high pressure LSA36 pumps will be placed in series to remove the excavated material from the tunnel.
